Emma Cotter, M. Sc. Nursing

Emma Cotter received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Emma is currently the Magnet Program Manager at Pennsylvania Hospital, and has been in the department of Nursing Professional Practice for five years. Emma is responsible for the leadership and facilitation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program at Pennsylvania Hospital. She coordinates, develops, disseminates, and enculturates the ANCC Magnet Model components, and supports ongoing Magnet re-designation efforts, including data management, interim monitoring, Magnet document writing, and site visit coordination with ANCC Magnet appraisers. Emma also oversees collection and input of Nurse Sensitive Indicator data, and leads performance initiatives related to patient quality and safety. She also provides mentorship and project guidance for Nursing Shared Governance and interprofessional initiatives. Prior to her current role, Emma held clinical nurse roles in cardiology and procedural nursing.
